Impression – Go On, Episode 04

Impression:

Episode four had some things that I really liked. First off we got to see more of Anne. Anne is quickly becoming my favorite character and when she interacts with Ryan I get excited to see what will ensue. In this episode, instead of the usual quick remark about how much she doesn’t like Ryan, Anne gets deep when talking about going to a wedding after the passing of her partner. We get to see a rare moment where Anne and Ryan are on the same page when it comes to things being uncomfortable regarding the whole plus one thing and a solution is found. A good portion of this episode was serious in a way that I enjoyed. We get too see the difficulties of getting back into the dating scene after loss for Anne and the evolution of Ryan coming to grips with the fact that he has to make a conscious effort to get on with his life. Now, before you think that you are going to be bored if you are only here for the comedy, you will be happy to know that there is another story being told in episode four. We finally get introduced to a sports guest star thanks to the nature of Ryan’s job in the form of Jeremy Roenick. Roenick is a former hockey star that is hosting a celebrity game that Ryan wants in on. I found it entertaining to see things go from false good to real bad once Ryan gets chosen to be in the game mainly out of pity.

I honestly hate going to weddings.

Current Opinion of the Show:

I am liking Go On more and more with its serious touch to comedy, sports stars, and Matthew Perry. I will continue to watch this show and I apologize if I start to show too much love for Matthew Perry in the material to come.
