Impression:

Just when I thought that I liked the new girl more than the childhood friend, this happens. I thought that Chuunibyou was embarrassing, but the stunts that they pull in this anime make me want to look away from my screen. Thankfully, the little attempt by Chiwa and company to make people think that she is fighting forces from her past life resulted in the class thinking that they were putting on a comedy skit which helped avoid extreme levels of embarrassment. Unfortunately, Chiwa finally asked out Sakagami which had the very unexpected result of him accepting to go on a date with her. Chiwa was obviously just trying to make Eita jealous, but he sees Chiwa as no more than a sister. This fact is revealed when Chiwa finally caves regarding the whole dating thing. We also get to see a flashback that explains both Chiwa’s injury and Eita’s drive to become a doctor. The emotions displayed in both the confrontation and the flashback were very strong and I cried. We are finally starting to see an honest Chiwa which is nice because I am a sucker for childhood friends, but don’t think Eita will just change his opinion of her on the fly.

Not something you want to see your friend using.

Current Opinion of the Show:

I am really enjoying this series. The emotions are strong and the female characters are very interesting. The chuunibyou element is very entertaining, but I did want to see more of Masuzu because her personality is pretty cool. I am happy to see the ploys at gaining Eita’s attention through jealousy somewhat ending because the concept was not something that I am a fan of. We did get a short scene where the chuunibyou girl was shown which makes me hopeful that she will be in the next episode. I am looking forward to seeing more of Eita’s romantic interests revealed.
