News – Batgirl to Join Injustice: Gods Among Us as the Second DLC Character – 5/5/13

Barbara Gordon is a really important part of the DC Universe.

Well, I guess that I have no idea how and when they plan on releasing the DLC characters for Injustice. I will say that Batgirl is a great choice when it comes to the character roster. Not only is Barbara Gordon a big part of the DC Universe, but we needed more female characters. There are tons of kick ass ladies that should be in the game. Some people are a little worries that Batgirl may just be a Batman clone and I think that is why we got the above picture as the teaser. The developers wanted us to see the bat gauntlet things. Also, the Bat Family has a lot of tricks up their sleeves and in their utility belts. There is enough going on to give us characters that feel different. Nightwing sure didn’t feel like a Batman clone. I guess that I don’t have much else to say about Barbara Gordon in particular. She is kind of an obvious pick up.

We can’t go this far yet.

I love Batman as much as the next guy, but we do need to watch out when it comes to adding new characters to Injustice. The Bat Family is great, but we are already a little Gotham heavy as it is. I won’t knock the Batgirl pick up, but there are other heroes to choose from. Can we talk about how Martian Manhunter has been disrespected. As far as I am concerned, he is a very important member of the Justice League. What has that gotten him? A place in the background of one of the stages. Not cool developers. His powers are really cool and you should Watch the Justice League cartoon that Cartoon Network put out in the early 2000’s if you think otherwise. Some people have said that they may not have a good special move for him. I would like to remind those people who Shazam’s special is lame and Martian Manhunter has crazy psychic powers that could produce a great special. Honestly guys, Shazam’s special could have been way cooler. At least I doubt that they will throw in any more Batman Villains. Poison Ivy isn’t a long shot, but we don’t need another ice villain and no one else makes a lot of sense off the top of my head. Can Black Manta get some love when it comes to villains. We could use a good Aquaman villain.
