Once again, fan support and social media show how powerful they can be. Thanks to an overwhelming positive English response to Sega’s Facebook page, the company thought it was appropriate to finally bring the PS3 rhythm game overseas. This makes it the very first game in the franchise to see the Western shores and “will include all of the updated graphics, additional songs, and features of the Japanese version.” Now why can’t all localizations be this easy?
The features 38 different Vocaloid songs, including fan favorites (mine included) like “Tell Your World.” Another draw of the game is the ability to share videos online, as well customizing your personal idol with different outfits and accessories. To be honest, I didn’t really expect there to such a huge audience for this game out here in the West. A game like this seems to cater to a very specific demographic, but I’m glad that Sega is taking the opportunity to listen to their fans. It’s pretty awesome, and I wish more video game companies would this open to suggestions.
Starting June 11th (June 12th for Europe!), there will be free demos of the game made available via the PSN! The game itself comes out in August. North America will receive both physical and digital options, while the game is only available on the PSN for Europe.
