Impression – Go On, Episode 03

Impression:

Well, what I was missing in episode two found its way into episode three. We get Anne, who us played by Julie White, becoming the person that is trying to keep Ryan in check. I love Anne because she is a sassy middle-aged lesbian which is something that more comedies sorely need. Ryan insults the group by pretending not to know them in front of his friends and that was not a good move. However, Ryan is still spending so much time with the group that his best friend, Steven played by John Cho, is feeling neglected and we get to see some really good awkward guy out of Steven which was really nice. The comedy is great as we get a small taste of everyone’s personality when Ryan has to eventually regain the trust of the group. Mr. K, played by Brett Gelman, shows off as a generally creepy dude that I expect to see more of as the show progresses. On top of that, we get a nice serious touch when Ryan struggles with telling his gardener that Janie is dead. Even though Ryan is reluctant to accept affection at first, when everyone including his gardener and Steven come out to support him, Ryan begins to realize how much he appreciates help in these troubling times.

I like my station wagon.

Current Opinion of the Show:

After last weeks’ small dip I am once again high on the show. I believe that episode three shows off what a great mix of comedy and drama can be and that is making me really excited to see more of the show.

  1. Big fan of Matthew Perry and I’m up to episode seven at the moment and after an unconvincing start it realll does start to get better.

I wrote a little bit about it a little while ago.

    • I am really looking forward to seeing how this show progresses. I love Matthew Perry and I needed something more than one liners out of a comedy.
