Impression:
I am starting to enjoy Cuticle Tantei Inaba. Episode two has basically confirmed that we are getting a wild comedy which I am fine with because it is actually entertaining. The show was basically split into two parts. The first part had Ogi’s rival come in who apparently has a thing for dogs which makes him be very creepy around Inaba. The detectives get into a race to stop Valentino and technically no one wins, but the combination of odd yaoi themes along the way were pretty funny. The second part involves a look into Ogi’s family. The much talked about daughter is ridiculous in every sense of the word as she takes her hobbies to the extreme by doing things like finding gorillas and building log cabins. Ogi’s wife has no sense of danger, but she has the ability to captivate Valentino. The entire short story involves Valentino’s attempt to kidnap Ogi’s daughter to get a key, but things don’t really go the goat’s way. The comedy is kind of ridiculous, but I watched Arakawa Under the Bridge so I really have no right to say anything.
Current Opinion of the Show:
I am liking this series more now. The comedy is nice, but that is really the only thing that I can say to endorse this series at the moment. I am waiting for an actual plot and I am hoping that we get one because there are hints being dropped here and there that there is room for an actual story. The comedy will be able to satisfy me for now, but I need more if I am going to stick with this series for the rest of the season. I am looking forward to some plot progression.
