Well, I already feel sorry for the characters in this show. Not being able to make friends is rough and it isn’t always easy when you look different from everyone else. I don’t look a thing like the majority of my close friends, but I was lucky. A show where people are shown to be going through misfortune is not really something I enjoy because I have a weak heart when it comes to this kind of stuff. However, the comedy that is looking to be a big part of this series is what is going to get me through this stuff. We have the foundation that any good slice of life needs and that is the makings of a love triangle. The misunderstood nice guy meets two women that are already at each other and that just makes for great comedy. Yozora is very bossy and she is using the classic tactic of forcing a guy to join the club that you are making. This element was made famous in the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I will say that some of the stuff that is being said in this series bothers me because it is happening at a Catholic school, but that is just my own religious bias kicking in.
Current Opinion of the Show:
I am very intrigued by this series. I have seen more than my fair share of romantic comedies, but this one has a very interesting element to its name. The very relatable issue of not being able to make friends should hit home for a lot of people. If that doesn’t work, people will find the awkward behavior to be entertaining nonetheless. I am really looking forward to seeing whether or not these girls actually like Kodaka, but this is an anime so it is almost a given that they will.
