The popular romantic comedy anime title by J.C. Staff is getting a PSP and PS Vita adaptation! Note, however, that this release is Japan Only (like most good things). It’s marketed as a “game creation simulation” and “love adventure,” which to me means visual novel + game making. You play as Sorata, and you’ll have to help him achieve his dreams of becoming a game designer, as well as court four main girls in the game. The girls include Mashiro Shiina, Aoyama Nanami, Misaki Kamiigusa, and an original girl named Otoha Nakano.
The graphics look fairly good, staying true to J.C. Staff’s animation of the series, and I’m also assuming that the characters will be voiced as well. There even seems to be some CG elements to the characters movements. It’s a little off-putting for someone like me who isn’t really familiar with anything outside of 2D character portraits (like a caveman experiencing fire for the first time). Like all good games though, there’s a limited edition version which includes a drama CD, a Mashiro muffler towel, and a figure of an usagimimi Otoha!
So for you lucky individuals who can play and read Japanese games, this seems like an interesting game to try out, particularly if you’re a fan of the series like I am. Maybe someone will translate the game…
