Impression:

I don’t remember the last time I an anime couple has had this much of an impact on me. Watching Yuuta and Rikka get advice on how to handle their feelings was pretty funny. I was a big fan of the abuse that Makoto received for his overly affectionate head resting. However, nothing could top the huge development that this episode held. That’s right, the confessions have been put out there. The lead in was awkward, and Rikka confessed first, but all of that in addition to the way that Yuuta used his Dark Flame Master voice to confess resulted in the most appropriate way for this couple to go canon. Rejoice shippers of Yuuta and Rikka for episode ten marks success. The way that the two interact after the confession is very innocent which follows KyoAni’s style of characters not really kissing even after a couple goes canon. I am somewhat disappointed by this because I am always waiting for the kiss. Oh well, we already got more than I see for a lot of couples that I have supported over the years. Unfortunately, this episode is not all fun and romantic because Rikka’s sister is going to Italy and their mother is back in the picture. Yuuta asks Rikka to take off her eye patch and the show ends on quite the cliffhanger. Well, fuck.

It is all fun and games until the eye patch comes off.

Current Opinion of the Show:

Damn you Chuunibyou for messing with my emotions. I loved the confessions and the fact that my favorite couple in this series went canon, but the way that they left us hanging hit me hard. I don’t know if they are no longer canon, or if Rikka just decided to listen to Yuuta, but things are definitely not resolved, I love this series, but I can’t keep taking this emotional stress. These last few episodes have been killer. I look forward to seeing what the hell is going on with Rikka.
