Impression:
The events of this episode were both expected and unexpected. Let’s start with Maou’s story because it was pretty short. Maou is about to enter the grave of the former demon kings and we get the classic “if I am not myself when I return, you must slay me” scenario because the power of the former demon kings is obviously very strong. It was a little odd seeing Maou in that kind of situation, but it is to be expected. The other thing that we saw from her perspective was a meeting with Female Mage. Apparently Maou left the mage a message, so we may get to see her pretty soon which would be nice. The important stuff happened on Yuusha’s end. Female Knight presented herself to Yuusha as a servant. Becoming a true knight and declaring herself loyal to Yuusha. Well, that didn’t last long because the new elections resulted in Maou being declared a heretic and a warrant for her arrest being issued. The people in charge found out that the potatoes were a demon crop. Well, Big Sister Maid is going to wear the illusion ring and let herself get captured so that Yuusha can save her. Unfortunately, the maids and Yuusha will have to find a new place to live. I really hope that the crying Big Sister Maid in the opening theme doesn’t depict a failed rescue attempt. Female Knight did say that Yuusha could defeat the entirety of the Holy Army single-handedly, but things don’t always go as planned. I feel as though something is really bothering Big Sister Maid as well. Things are really starting to go awry even though the Winter King is on the side of our main characters. That was all pretty much predictable. However, revealing to the merchant the fact that Maou is a demon and taking him to the demon world caught me off guard. Also, the way in which Yuusha was talking about the dragon princess. I mean, Yuusha was probably trying to show the merchant how the demons and humans are not so different, but how many times can you say breasts in one sentence?
Current Opinion of the Show:
We are starting to get some real action in this show which is very nice. I expect to see Yuusha actually fighting which hasn’t happened yet and I really want to see how they handle his ridiculous power. At times I forget how far back in technological advancement the world is in Maoyuu and it can catch me off guard. Talking about how the villagers were happy that no one died of a cold in the past winter threw me off. Oh well, the story is going in a good direction and I am glad that the dragon princess is turning into somewhat of a recurring character. I look forward to seeing this farce of an arrest.
