Impression:

Things are getting really intense in this series. The priestess being a members of the Wasps with crazy archery skills was definitely on the list of things that I didn’t expect to see in this series. Well, with power suits and zombies being tossed around like everyday items, I don’t really know what I was expecting to see. For the most part we got some nice back story on Koharu. I was right when I initially thought that she wasn’t Roman’s real sister. I am not going to go back and read old things so I can’t say whether or not I rescinded that statement, but I know that it was part of my first impression. Honestly, having Roman’s dad befriend the sickly shogun and raise his illegitimate daughter as his own is an interesting concept. However, that coupled with the fact that the secret item was a person make for a pretty routine storyline. Though I will not say that I find it boring because things are really starting to pick up. Suzuki doesn’t feel pain and has his own power suit. Roman and the gang defeat the Oniwaban group that were responsible for killing Roman’s father, but they ultimately fail in getting Koharu back. If it only took one episode for the secret princess to get captured and rescued, then things would be kind of pointless. Okuni has taken Koharu to who I believe are the Americans because they speak english and the leader is singing a song about Kentucky. The preview has Roman looking after a possibly wounded Okuni, so here are my thoughts on that. The Americans probably see no point in keeping their eastern allies now that they have what they want so they try to eliminate Okuni. Roman finds her on his quest to get Koharu back. They will probably make amends and work together to get Koharu back. Seems pretty likely if you ask me.

The priestess is officially my favorite character.

Current Opinion of the Show:

I am really liking this series. Things have finally gotten serious and, although very much cliché, a lot of the little things are really coming together. Suzuki questions his actions for the first time due to Koharu’s kindness which could lead to him becoming Roman’s ally in the future. The priestess has all kinds of skills that need to be shown off now that they are a thing. Roman and Okuni are developing and even greater Batman and Catwoman relationship that I need to see played out. There is just a lot going on and I can’t wait to see the encounter with Okuni in next week’s episode.
