Impression:

This series gets better and better with every episode. I will say that I was disappointed at first by the suspension of the fighting. Kurousagi used her authority as a game master to review the rules of the game due to accusations of cheating by the communities. Well, it turns out that the demon lords can make rules that are ambiguous as hell because there was no illegal conduct going down. Oh we, the negotiations were pretty interesting. Izayoi was pushing Jin to use his skills in negotiation in order to save everyone. It turns out that the demon lord is the bringer of pestilence and we are basically dealing with the black plague. Pest, the demon lord, wanted to suspend the game for a month which would result in many deaths and victory for her community. Well, with some hard ball from everyone besides Sandora, the gap was brought down to a week and the duration of the game’s action will be held to twenty-four hours once things pick up again. The time limit is bringing some nice tension into the mix. The good thing is that we got to see the start of the fight before the end of the episode which should make us all very excited for the season finale. Here are the things that make this episode great. First of all, I was right that Asuka wasn’t down for the count. Honestly, it was an easy prediction to make, but her comeback was way better than expected. Not only did she learn of the truth behind the Piper of Hamelin, but she now is in the possession of a giant mech. That is right, Asuka, the mech, and Leticia will be fighting the Piper girl and her multiple storms. Next you have Kurousagi and Sandora facing off with the demon lord which should make for a good fight. Finally, while everyone else has to take out the stained glass, Izayoi is fighting that demon guy who just gained divinity. Why is this important? Well, he drew blood from Izayoi already so I am expecting an actual fight, rather than a beat down. This action is getting ridiculously intense.

I can't believe that breaking stained glass is part of the victory conditions of this game.

Current Opinion of the Show:

I am hooked. The intense action that could be felt even during the negotiations is something that is very lacking in this anime season. Not a lot of good action running around outside of Mondaiji. I am really happy to see Kurousagi actually fighting and Izayoi not looking like the final boss of a video game. Asuka getting into the mix is nice and we have been lacking a big scale battle like we are seeing right now. I guess I don’t like seeing You out of commission due to illness, but I guess it is time for others to shine. Something that really intrigued me was the fact that the demon lord is recruiting. I guess they are new and power in numbers is the law of the land in Little Garden, but that was something that I did not expect. It really reinforces the harsh power struggle that faces even the great demon lords in this universe. I am a big fan of this level playing field that all of the groups are a part of. The game might not be fair, but even the demon lords must gather members. I am really looking forward to the conclusion of this game that better happen in the next episode. Of course, having it left incomplete would signal a new season, which is what I truly want, but we don’t need a Dragon Ball Z length fight.
