Impression:
Things got pretty interesting in this week’s episode. For the first time in a while I actually enjoyed the humor. One of the other twelve demons shows up to try to stop this one from getting away. However, much like with Ruki, the loli character is really old. We get some broken hip jokes thrown in that were timed pretty well. Ross takes action by kicking this new demon through the multiple walls of the prison and he gets all serious when talking about what has possibly transpired due to the lack of active guards in the prison. It turns out that the escape plan that Ross has conjured up is an attempt to further incriminate Alba. Honestly, it is a lot funnier when you watch it.The pedophile soldier returns with the female hero at the end which brought a few interesting things into the mix. The first is the fact that the new demon was referred to as a member of December’s crew. I think that the exact name may vary based on your translator. This claim sets up the twelve demons being named after the months and one of them is probably trying to lead the others with evil intentions. Sounds fun. The other things that we got were questions. Why is this female hero here? How did the pedophile get to where he is now? How the hell are they going to conclude anything in the next three episodes?
Current Opinion of the Show:
I know that I am flip-flopping on this show, but a series like this can change as quickly as the episodes pass by. If they could continue this type of quality in terms of humor and plot progression, then this would be the kind of show that would make me petition to get some longer episodes. Obviously, it could be argued that the series being hit or miss is more of a reason to get longer episodes because consistent quality would indicate an efficient use of time, but that is really up for debate. The thing is that, for the first time in weeks, I actually enjoyed watching this anime. Whether or not you enjoy the humor is more taste than anything because there isn’t much of a standard for comedy, I do believe that this was one of the stronger episodes in that regard. I am really looking forward to a big confrontation between everyone that is both inside and outside of the prison.
