I hope that everyone enjoyed the season finales of our shows. Unfortunately, we have lost more than I had expected this week. I guess I never mentioned that Wally was my favorite character in Young Justice. Well, I just wanted to remind everyone that we have done great things, but we are not done yet. We will continue to tweet on Saturdays, e-mail executives, and think of new ways to get our voices heard. What we have done so far is great and I was very excited to see things pick up after the first week showed minimal results. Normally, people lose interest when we don’t get a response, but we fought hard and good things are happening. Kmart is looking into carrying toys from Green Lantern the Animated Series which would really help the lack of revenue for the series. Also, Cartoon Network started selling the Young Justice DVD’s on their website which is great because I don’t own them yet. Things are really starting to pick up and the people in charge of our shows haven’t given up yet. They continue to pitch ideas for new material and the fact that they are trying should help us keep the morale up in our fight. Let’s not look at this new absence of episodes as loss. We should consider it another hiatus. Lord knows we are used to those at this point.
Number one in the United States is never a bad thing. To answer any questions regarding what we are doing now that the season is over, yes we have a new hashtag for this week’s Twitter campaign. Let’s strive for number one in the world for this week’s new hashtag #HeroesForHeroes. We have the next official hashtag, so I will go over the rules for this week once again: #1). Use the hashtag #HeroesForHeroes, #2). Use the hashtag on Saturday only, #3). Use only one hashtag in your tweets, #4). Support the shows in any way that you can, #5). Please mention Young Justice and Green Lantern the Animated Series more directly in your tweets while avoiding tagging them(#GLTAS and #Young Justice are not what we are looking for). Once again, try to be respectful in your tweets so that we will look like a serious group and not a bunch of angry COD fans. Keep up with the news during the week on yjfanvids. Things are going well so let’s not lose steam.
Well, there are spoilers ahead for anyone that missed the end of season two. I normally don’t say this, but this is coming out less than forty-eight hours after the episodes were aired. Both shows ended in similar ways. Both had their major crises end at the cost of a prominent character. I was prepared for Aya to die because of the flip to evil and the fact that everyone was trying to put her down. I am not saying that it was necessary, but anyone that says it came out of left field needs to take a close look at the story. Green Lantern the Animated Series had a pretty decent ending because of the closure that it gave us. They left it open for more with a search for Aya, but in a far less direct manner than the one that Young Justice employed. As I stated earlier, Wally West is my favorite character in Young Justice. At first, his death did hit me out of left field. I didn’t expect it at all and the story wasn’t throwing out signs that were as direct as main characters calling for someone to be put down. However, after watching the episode ten times, I realized that Wally was dead as soon as he was introduced in Invasion. We all know the two signs of death for a character. Either you are one day away from retirement or you are in a serious relationship. Why is this? I guess it is for impact. Well, Wally came out of retirement for one last ride. Obviously dead. Wally is also the only team member that stayed with his significant other from season one. I think they were working on six years together. They even shared an apartment with a dog. That alone is a sign of death. Combine the two with the fact that Wally jumped into action when the rest of the Flash Family wasn’t enough made his fate extremely obvious. Although, I don’t feel any better about it. We did get closure with the League getting released from Rimbor and the Reach being forced out, but we also got a very big cliffhanger in the final scene. Vandal Savage takes the War World to Apokolips and meets with Darkseid. I can’t believe that we might not get to see the fight with New Genesis and Apokolips. We need new episodes for both of these shows.
