Impression:
Well, the series ended as randomly as it began. Don Valentino stole Inaba’s hair collection in order to make diamonds out of the carbon. That is ridiculous, but I am fine with it. Then, Inaba gets way too serious trying to take back what is his which results in Ogi watching over the Don and his family. Not as protection for the Don, but as a way to stop Inaba from becoming a criminal. Apparently, Inaba is highly skilled when he is serious which results in the entire Valentino Family being taken out quite easily. I actually thought that was kind of nice, but that wouldn’t really fit with the style that this show has established. Ogi defeats Inaba by making him play fetch. Yes, that really happened. Oh well, Yuuta saved Noah and friends because we all know that they aren’t really at war with one another. I was getting very tired of that, but there was a second half to this episode. Even though myanimelist hasn’t updated it yet, I am convinced that this new character has Lelouch’s voice actor. That dude has been busy and I think I can recognize his dramatic voice. This is character could be considered a chuunibyou which makes me even more sure of the voice actor after having watched Chuunibyou. The cloaked figure wearing a goat skull is looking for a job and ends up at Don’s expansion interview. Things don’t go well, but the episode ends with Mori narrating a chase that quickly reintroduced all of the important characters. It felt like a season finale, but I was not satisfied.
Current Opinion of the Show:
Well, that was a very exhausting experience. I spent the majority of this series waiting for it to really hit its stride, but it never did. The humor began to get more and more stale as the series progressed and it was not compensated by quality story or character development. The series left me wanting something more in a very bad way. Towards the end I could barely get through the episodes, but there was almost nothing going on which allowed me to not have to strain myself concentrating on the material. Did I like it at all? Bits and pieces of it. Occasionally there was a laugh or two to be had for me, but that makes my opinion just that. This is a comedic series, so my opinion of the show could greatly differ from yours. The humor did not appeal to me, but comedy is one of the most personal tastes out there. However, this is my article, so I will reiterate the fact that I did not enjoy most of it. That is all.
