Impression:

Well, we finally got an episode with a bigger focus on the comedy than the drama, but that isn’t a bad thing. Courteney Cox guest stars as a widow that Anne has gotten to know because their respective spouses are buried at the same cemetery. Anne thought that it would be a good idea to introduce the two, but what ends up happening is something that wouldn’t be allowed on television not too long ago. Now that her husband has passed, this new lady has started kind of a wild streak. From faking tears to get free drinks to having Ryan and Anne fight over her, this is a woman who has brought the laughs. Unfortunately, this turns into a competition for affection that I should have been really excited for. However, we all knew that Ryan would win. The problem is that this lovely lady is into things that are a little more crazy than just sexual experimentation. Anne avoided getting pulled over for speeding in a stolen car because she listened to her instincts which is something that Mr. K was doing. Yolanda ends up on a singles cruise for Asian Christians because her parents are trying to marry her off. Luckily, we don’t miss out on group activities with this cruise because Skype exists. The group ends up objectifying the men on the floor because Yolanda is too uneasy about this whole thing and two things end up happening. The first was Mr. K spotting an odd man in a purple jacket and everyone saying to stay away from him because his spotter is the king of oddities. The second was Lauren flirting with a random guy from the cruise. To wrap up the funny stuff, Mr. K shows off his romantic skills when Yolanda finds out that the guy in the purple jacket was perfect. The serious thing was Lauren hitting it off with someone else once again. The true issue was finally addressed when Lauren tells Sonia that she had low self-esteem growing up and that she likes attention. Obviously, Lauren has settled for the first hot guy to give her the rime of day and that isn’t fair to anyone.

If only he tasted like grape soda.

Current Opinion of the Show:

I am still high on this show. Even though the feel of this episode shifted into something far more comedic than what we have been getting, it was fun humor that was definitely entertaining. The reunion between Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry was honestly a little underwhelming for me, but that may be because the focus was obviously on the growing relationship between Ryan and Anne. Not a romantic one, but a strong friendship that is really fun to watch. Also, Yolanda’s screen time was really nice because we haven’t really gotten to know her yet. I am looking forward to seeing how Lauren handles the tough truth regarding her engagement.
