Impression:

Honestly, a lot of what happened outside of Eita and Masuzu as an item kind of went over my head. I guess that is because I was anticipating their big moment for about a week now. Things went pretty much as expected with Eita showing up at the OreDere contest to watch everyone compete. Chiwa gave a very heartwarming speech about how she wants to be the kind of person to compliment Eita. As we know, Eita is a catch. I guess you could say that the delusional past is bad, but the dedication, intelligence, kindness, and cooking skills all make for a fantastic guy. I like Chiwa and childhood friends in general, but the lack of focus on her in the middle of the story made it so that she didn’t really wow me. Hime had that very emotional moment with Eita when she ditched the stage to hold him, but I never really saw her as a serious candidate. Ai’s performance surprised me because they never really gave her a chance. They took Ai’s preaching as her entry which did not let her show off the tsundere style that we all know and love. Once again, Ai has been a favorite of mine throughout the show and I know that is a popular opinion. However, we all know that when harem candidates become friends, they lose their edge. I am not exactly sure why that happens. I would say that the fact that they develop relationships outside of the main romantic route could spread their development too thin. I am not really sure, but it is just something that happens. I thought the big moment was going to be the moment when Eita confronted Masuzu. Trust me, it was great with speech that let Masuzu know that she may be horrible, but Eita can accept that. Eita accepts the acting because Masuzu needs it and they shared a kiss to seal the deal. All of that happened on the big stage which left the other ladies down in the dumps. The only reason that I say that wasn’t the biggest moment in the episode is the fact that Masuzu surprised Eita the next morning. Nothing too sexual, just a declaration of love and some snuggling that may or may not be another view into the true Masuzu. It was adorable and I love moments like that. This sounds nice, but I guess you can’t really call this endgame. Eita looked like he was going to voluntarily get intimate with Chiwa at the end there and I still don’t know how I feel about that.

I don't know what kind of legal binding blood truly has, but I wouldn't accept it as a stamp of approval.

Current Opinion of the Show:

That was quite the wild ride. I am not used to a harem showing off that many quality characters. I do believe that if you took each one of the girls and threw them into an average harem, that I would root for each and every one of them. However, in a world where there are winners, there must be losers. I wanted to say that the anime was over, but the last part of the episode made sure that there was room for another season. Eita’s aunt told him to make the other girls hate him in order to avoid a battlefield, but that all backfired when he ended up making them love him even more. Way to be the typical harem protagonist and attract everyone when you don’t want to. At least we know that Eita has picked Masuzu. The thing that I am way too excited about is the fact that a season two could make for something that rarely happens which is a shounen series that gives us some post hook up romance. I don’t use hook up in a sexual fashion, but shounen fans should know what I mean. The genre gives us romance that is endgame at best, but I don’t like that. Oh well, let’s look forward to more from our favorite maidens.
