The light novel series Kikou Shoujo wa Kizutsukanai (which also has a manga series) has been green-lit to receive a TV anime adaptation, and I’m extremely intrigued from what I’ve seen in this trailer. The title roughly translates to “Unbreakble Machine-Doll,” and the story follows a puppeteer boy named Raishin Akabane and his female automaton Yaya. He enrolls at the Walpurgis Royal Academy in England to study “Machinart,” which is the craft of making automatons. If the art style looks familiar, it’s probably because the character designs are done by LLO which did the designs for OreShura.
As a lover of steampunk settings and Carl Clover from Blazblue, this series is right up my alley. The only reservation I have at this point is the out of place CGI that’s used in this trailer. Hopefully as time goes on, we’ll see an increase in animation quality (especially since a production company hasn’t been decided yet).
