Impression:

Things are finally taking off in the love department. After a party, Carrie drunk dials Ryan and tells him about how she wants him. This is very distressing and Ryan has to talk to Lauren at an ungodly hour like he always does. Things would progress well if it wasn’t for the fact that Lauren is dealing with her own stuff. Ryan becomes the first member of the group to find out that Lauren does not love Wyatt. If you think about it, Lauren is making a mistake. I honestly don’t know how someone could not love Wyatt’s character. I guess they wrote it that way, but come on. I guess this is a television show and they keep telling you to find the one, but people settle for a lot less than Wyatt. Adding the baking of bread and soulful singing really pushed his character over the top. However, it is bad to lead on someone. If you don’t love them now, then things aren’t going to change. I have become far too jaded through indirect experiences to be a good source of relationship advice. Well, like in most shows, things work out when Lauren ditches her bachelorette party to finally have the talk that needed to happen. Lauren is single again, but she is not handling things as well as she should. We get the whole “you can rely on others even though you are supposed to be the pillar of support” thing. Ryan is there for Lauren because he has grown as an individual and it is in a unromantic way. Go On does a really good job of giving us friendships. Characters don’t have to be sleeping with each other to have a connection. On the other end, Ryan can’t confront Carrie, but things are obviously there. They both care about each other, but Ryan doesn’t know what he wants. I am really glad that the whole connection with Carrie thing became relevant again because it was very interesting when it was first brought up. Well, Ryan no longer has the whole “we work together” excuse to make because Carrie quit. Your move Ryan.

I really want to try on a mascot costume someday.

Current Opinion of the Show:

I haven’t been this excited for a new episode of Go On since the series began. The fact that Carrie has made things clear is really intense. I assume that within the next three episodes we will be seeing Ryan go over the pros and cons of being with Carrie in the group sessions. Carrie may be younger than Ryan, but that matters less the older you get. In high school, it is creepy if a senior dates a freshman, but no one will question and eighty year old man being married to a sixty year old woman. I like Carrie’s character and I think that she really deserves more screen time. It didn’t have to be as Ryan’s love interest, but it is nice seeing that. I don’t know about you guys, but I am looking forward to seeing some awkward interactions between Ryan and Carrie in a romantic sense even though I don’t see them being endgame.
