I guess that this anime doesn’t really appeal to everyone. I was describing Nyaruko to a friend of mine last night and I just saw a look that was a mix of disappointment and disbelief fix itself on his face. Oh well, I actually enjoy this series to an extent. I guess there is the intergalactic library of congress or something like that in existence and Nyaruko has an overdue library book. Hasuta used to work at the library so he knows all about it. This thing is huge. I like libraries, but that is a big ass place. They store all of the universe’s knowledge there, so Mahiro decides to look something up. The search engine requires three words in order to find what you are looking for which would be amazing if this was real life. What ends up happening is Mahiro inputs Nyaruko and Kuuko as the first two words, which got him some naughty responses from the girls, but the third word threw everything out of whack. Not only did Nyaruko and Kuuko attack the boys when Mahiro decided that “age” would be the last word, but the search engine started to crash because of it. I guess not asking about a woman’s age is something that is very important. This was the second anime that I watched today where that subject was touched on. I guess the real action started when two guys tried to steal a book or something. The importance of the library means that this happens a lot so there is a task force on hand. It would be nice if they didn’t get whooped though. Even Nyaruko and Kuuko go down, but that is because they had to hold back from destroying the books. Watch out for Hasuta because he is apparently strong on a scary level. You can’t really tell from the whole shota/trap thing he has going on. The gang ends up leaving the investigation to other people until a lack of forces and an illegal entering of Earth leads to them being called back in. It sounds fairly action packed unless you are actually watching the series.
Current Opinion of the Show:
I guess I like this series. It is not really much different from what we got out of the first season and I know I watched that. Sometimes I wish that the comedy was a little less sexual, but that is kind of the point of the series. I got over the fact that they turned the Cthulhu Mythos characters into aliens that take the form of humans and whatnot last season, but it always feels odd when they start talking about it and I am reminded of what the actual mythos is all about. The series must be really profitable because the series looks great. Their animation budget must be decently high. What I will say is that there are a few things that bother me. The obvious orgasm that was given to the flying hippo monster and the lack of screen time for Tamao come to mind. I can’t really put my finger on it, but I can’t classify this series as either good or bad right now. I don’t know why, but no matter how ridiculous things get, I still feel a need to watch the series. Oh well, I don’t know how unpopular this opinion is, but does anyone else want a Kuuko heavy episode?
