Well, it was announced over the weekend that an anime adaptation of Nisekoi has been green-lit. Bookstores in Japan were given promotional posters to announce this endeavor. How do I feel about this? I have mixed feelings honestly. Let’s start with the good. I love Nisekoi. That is a fact and it is because of that that I am super excited to see it become an anime. I am curious to see which production company is going to take on the project. A-1 Pictures seems like a safe pick to me, but it’s not like there aren’t other good choices. Now we have the stuff that I am still up in the air about. The voice actors that did the voice comic for Nisekoi are Yoshitsugu Matsukoa and Haruka Tomatsu. For those of you that don’t recognize those names, they are Kirito and Asuna from Sword Art Online. It is not confirmed that they will be doing the voices for the anime, but things seem likely due to their popularity. I haven’t heard the voice comic, but we will hear how things turn out when the time comes. I am just a little tired of hearing them. Now the bad. I am a little skeptical regarding the timing of this. Not only is there a light novel currently in the works for this series, but the manga isn’t even one hundred chapters in yet. I don’t see the series ending anytime soon and I am afraid that the anime could catch up too fast and go in a different direction, add a bunch of fillers, or keep us waiting eons for the second season. I just think that it is a lot to ask of the people in charge of this stuff right now. I can’t handle bad fillers or getting anime blue balls because of bad timing. Oh well, I am a pessimist when it comes to these things. What we should be taking away from this is the fact that Naoshi Komi is finally getting recognized for the great work that he does. Congradulations dude.
Yea!!! That’s amazing! But when does it come out in English sub?
There isn’t a set release date yet. It was just announced that they are working on it, so I wouldn’t expect it anytime soon.
