Impression:
Well, it took a season and a half, but I am actually starting to like Hibiki. Why is that? I honestly think that the look into her backstory helped a lot. The hostility and rejection that she faced after the noise attack shows why she is so quick to accept people. I am still not the biggest fan of villains joining the heroes constantly, but I like Hibiki more due to that and the berserk mode.

Did this remind anyone else of Indiana Jones?
Being fused with your relic has its pluses and minuses. A big plus is the fact that you can regenerate your lost limbs. Yeah, Hibiki will not be walking around with one arm anytime soon. The trauma from the event made her go berserk again. In this form she regenerated her lost arm, forced Dr. Ver into a psychotic state, and ripped out the Nephilim’s still beating heart. That last one was my favorite part of the episode. The Nephilim was defeated and Hibiki returned to normal. Well, as normal as things get in this series. Both Hibiki and Ma’am ended up in the medical ward after this one. Ma’am is doing that classic anime thing where she coughs up blood which is probably a result of symphogear experimentation. Hibiki was analyzed and it was revealed that her fusion with the relic exceeds expectations. It has become so severe that it will soon kill her. Well, the Nephilim is gone and things should be cooling down right? That is not how anime works. Marian and company are searching for Dr. Ver, Dr. Ver is running around with the Nephilim’s heart, the moon is on a crash course with the Earth, Hibiki won’t stop fighting, and we are going to see Finé take over Maria eventually. There is a lot going on right now.

That is totally not foreshadowing.
Current Opinion of the Show:
Things are starting to heat up in a good way. Hibiki’s backstory has finally been revealed and it is pretty interesting. I guess that surviving a noise attack isn’t all that it is cracked up to be. Everyone besides her family would abuse her. They would call her a murderer even though that makes no sense whatsoever. For some reason, these children talked about how it is a waste of tax dollars to pay out to survivors of the attacks. Either that is a bunch of regurgitation from stuff that their parents talk about or these children are way more involved in the economy than your average students. I actually think that is a good thing, but it was a bit odd. The backstory does explain why Hibiki wants to accept others because she was so rejected, but you can’t save everyone. Oh well, the thing that I really liked about Hibiki was her berserk mode in this episode. She really showed off the brutality of this series when she retaliated to her dismemberment by ripping out the Nephilim’s heart Indiana Jones style. That was pretty damn cool. Oh yeah, and the fusion with the relic allows Hibiki to touch the noise without dying in her regular state.

Someone was bound to do it eventually.
The first thing that I thought of when I saw this was the commander. Are they ever going to tell us how he is able to fight on such a ridiculous level? If he could touch the noise like Hibiki, then I think this war would be over. Unfortunately, I think that this series may never explain it and that upsets me. Oh well, we all saw the epic foreshadowing when the Commander and Tsubasa were talking. It is pretty obvious that the six symphogear users will come together and use their combined power to stop the moon from hitting the Earth with the use of Hibiki’s swan song channeling. Will this be a series that destroys the moon without a care? I can’t tell you that. What I can tell you is that there will be more sacrifices and anti-villains because that is basically what this series is al about. When it comes to that, I am not very thrilled. I miss the symphogear fights that seem to be lacking in this series. The ridiculous weapons and whatnot just don’t seem to be very relevant and that is just another waste of potential. What I really need from this series is to see the divas actually fighting like they technically should.

Stop being useless.
