Impression:
Kou has his own place now which prompts some scandalous accusations. Nino is seen leaving Kou’s house and this really messes with Hoshi. Due to this, Hoshi brings Kou to the church where Sister will act like a lie detector for some questioning. Due to his military training, Sister is very good at this and it is soon revealed that Nino only sleeps at Kou’s place because it is warmer than hers and this makes Hoshi laugh. It appears that there is nothing to fear because Kou has never even taken Nino on a date and the heckling starts to eat at our young Recruit. Now, we get to see Kou try to convince Nino to go on a date with him. The problem is, staying with the uninformed alien act, Nino has no idea what a date is. Through a hilarious string of futile efforts, Kou finally gets Nino to agree to do an activity together. Nino wants to go to the mouth of the river to see if the grass boats she made have reached the ocean. I am honestly truly surprised that we are getting such a solid story in amongst all of the side comedy. Both are great and I like to focus on the story because it is a nice, awkward love story thus far.
Current Opinion of the Show:
I love so many things about this series, but Sister is honestly a gem amongst gems. The comedy is great and the story is interesting. Shaft is once again being shaft with its attention to the ridiculous and I have really enjoyed their work in the form of Mahou Shoujo Magical Madoka, Bakemonogatari, and Arakawa Under the Bridge. I look forward to more of both this series and much more from shaft.
