A 3-minute trailer showing off some anime cutscenes, gameplay, and voice acting. An astute listener will pick out some familiar voices from anime, like what I believe is Daisuke Ono voicing Simon Yorke and Shizuka Itou voicing Racoona Sheldon. I really hope the game will retain the option for Japanese voices should it make it over to the US, and I don’t know why more games don’t do that more often. I’m pretty having both options doesn’t kill memory space.
Anyway, I’m really liking the focus on characters and plot this time around. For hardcore fans of the series, it retains the dungeon crawling exploration that made the original so enticing. This new direction offers a different way to experience the first game in the series.
Also check out the minimalistic cover design.
Etrian Odyssey: Millennium Maiden will be released in Japan on 6/27/13.
