Impression:

I would enjoy this series a lot more if they could tone down the sex stuff. I am not saying that they should cut it out completely. The style of the show kind of needs it, but I could do without Kuuko’s cousin fondling her for what seemed like an eternity. I guess that my dislike of incest adds to my disappointment, but that whole thing was kind of rough. I also could have done without them spending as much time as they did with Nyaruko embracing Mahiro in the bath. The bath scene itself wasn’t bad and I am pretty intrigued by the love that Mahiro may feel for Nyaruko, but you can ruin it by having too much ecchi. That stuff was interesting, but the big thing that happened was Kuuko being forced to marry. We run into arranged marriages more often than you may think in anime and I usually enjoy what ensues. Kuuko is pretending to be engaged to Mahiro. That is the obvious course of action and I am really liking it. The interesting thing to watch is how Nyaruko is reacting to the act. She isn’t too happy about Mahiro being intimate with someone else. On the other hand, Kuuko is showing why she is part of the harem even though she claims to love Nyaruko. Conservatives are looking for Mahiro to help reprogram homosexuals on a grander scale. Joking aside, it is nice to see Kuuko getting more screen time.

Current Opinion of the Show:

It has been some time since I started questioning what makes me watch this series and I think I am starting to figure things out. When they aren’t sexually assaulting each other, I actually like the characters. My favorite one is Kuuko and I can’t stress enough how happy I am that we are getting more of her in the story. I know I have said that a bunch of times, but it is just very important to me. I am also enjoying the nice guy Mahiro that we are getting. You can only play the violent straight man for so long. When it comes to Nyaruko, I don’t hate her, but I am really enjoying watching her reactions to this fake engagement thing. That sounds mean, but I don’t care.I am just glad that she is doing something besides seducing Mahiro for once. Overall, I am still not the biggest fan of this show. I only say that because I assume that there are people out there that love it. I don’t think that I have been more excited to see an episode of Nyaruko as I am right now because we are getting more fake engagement. Let’s just hope that there is less incest next week.
