Nintendo announced today through Nintendo Direct that Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney will finally be receiving a long-awaited English localization and will be released in North America.
The crossover game from Level-5 and Capcom was originally released on November 2012 in Japan. The game features Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright crossing paths in a strange and mysterious world. The game features both the puzzle elements from the Professor Layton series along with the courtroom trials of the Ace Attorney games.
Fans have been wondering whether or not the crossover game would ever make it to North America. Both series have done exceptionally well in sales and have dedicated a strong dedicated fan base, so releasing the game to a wider audience is practically a dream come true. I was starting to lose hope that it would ever see an official English release, so it’s a nice surprise to see that Nintendo is releasing it after all here in the States. Now if only we could get Ace Attorney Investigations 2…
Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright will be released both in North America and Europe in 2014. No word yet on whether it’ll be a physical release or a digital one.
