For those of you who may not be familiar with ClariS, they’re a rising singing duo made up of two young girls whose faces have never been released to the public (so that they can focus on school). They have aliases, “Clara” and “Alice,” as well as official caricatures that illustrators draw to depict them. ClariS is one of my favorite Japanese music groups right now because of their nice J-pop sound and their pleasant voices.

They’ve done the openings for Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai and Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica, as well as the ending for Nisemonogatari.

I don’t normally like AMV’s or MAD videos, but this one really just put me over the top. I’m also not a huge fan for sappy, romantic stuff, but I actually started tearing up while watching this. The video’s editing work is gorgeous and definitely deserves a ton of views. This makes me want to go look for more MAD videos out there that are as good as this one.

This particular song, “graduation,” is from their debut album Birthday (2012), and its usage in the music video is amazing. It’s like the creator, someone from NicoNicoDouga, deliberately tried to cram as many feels as possible into one short video. I like to think that he or she was very successful. Spanning across an enormous number of anime series and movies, the video creator draws scenes from 5 Centimeters per Second, Haruhi, ef, Hyouka, Ano Hana, The World God Only Knows, and Hanasaku Iroha, to name a very few.

How many series/movies can you recognize? (I was only able to pick out 24)
