Code Geass’s Goro Taniguchi is actually not directing the project, but instead providing creative guidance as a producer. The real project director is Hisashi Saito (from Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai and Sora no Otoshimono).
Vocal talent includes:
- Ayaka Ohashi as Uzume Uno
- Minami Tsuda as Sasara
- Sora Tokui as Katia
- Chinatsu Akasaki as Shimeji
- Akiko Hasegawa as Akari
- Sayaka Oohara as Madeleine
Most of these voice actresses haven’t had much screen time, but I’ve enjoyed some of their work in other series. I really liked Minami Tsuda as Yui Funami from YuruYuri, as well as Chinatsu Akasaki as Shinka Nibutani from Chuunibyou. I think my favorite character from Fantasista Dolls will most likely be Sasara, just from the design and seiyuu.
Even if this series plays out like a “generic” mahou shoujo type anime, I wouldn’t say that has to be a bad thing. I’m actually looking forward to a fun, easy-going series.
The series is being produced by Hoods Entertainment and will air in July.
Am I the only one that feels that they’re sort of modeled after Vocaloids? Sasara looks like Kagamine Ren, Madeline reminds me of Luka, Katia is Hatsune Miku in her winter outfit with shorter hair. Shimeji’s outfit makes me think of Gumi.
Ah…interesting, they kinda do! Maybe that’s why I’m interested in the series or even vice-versa.
